Mood: Glorious
Music: GO!!! - Flow
Just came back from SC and it was absolutely fabulous. I met sooo many new people who were also going, I couldn't even remember all their names!!
Hmm...sorta got "reacquainted" with Fiona and I stayed up until 3 AM with her and Amy playing cards and talking about everything and anything.
It's so relaxing to just get away from all the hectic of everyday life and spend time with people you only get to see like once a week.
Well, minus Alice, LOL. I see her almost everyday, but even still, you'd think I'd see her more often since she's only two rooms away.
On Saturday night, I was already in bed by 10:30 since I had to get up so early that day. I wanted to sleep, but then Alice came banging on my door and she dragged Amy and I upstairs to the 4th floor lounge to play Uno and PS.
Amy was almost literally dragged out of the bathroom where she was taking a bath.
Oh, I never did get to room the washroom with Alice after all. The new building's quite weird. Amy and Susan were actually sharing the bathroom with me instead of Alice. She, instead, was with Fiona and Imelda.
But Imelda had to leave early for a music camp in the states, so Fiona had a huge room with two beds to herself for most of the weekend.
Dr. Kent was such a great speaker (so emotional and moving) and I wished he'd come back to do next year's SC.
Early Sunday evening, Keith (I think it was him) took us on a night walk around the campus and that was pretty cool, besides the mosquitos.
We came upon this tiny path leading into the woods, but some of us noticed a sign that said no people or bicycles were allowed in...
Well, if people can't go in in the first place, how can bicycles?
So we stood around for a few minutes, trying to decide if we should break the rules and go ahead, even though our group only had like three flashlights. *sigh*..
We never did go on ahead, which really sucked, but the tour wasn't that bad really.
We came across campsites and that same place we had a night barbeque (roasting marshmellows, so cheesy =D) like two years ago.
The food was GREAT. I'd have to agree with Alice Mah that the egg salads are really good. That's why I went back for a plate full of seconds, but then I got too sick of it like halfway through. Had to dunk it all down my throat with Pepsi.
And I swear, I haven't ate this much since the Quebec trip.
One down point was that I kept losing my water bottle. I never did find it...
We had a scavenger hunt for our Jr. High group during our first rec time and so we split up into four groups, following clues and looking for different coloured pills.
Our group (Fiona, Michelle, Hailey, Agnus and I) couldn't find our last pill 'cause someone from another group had probably kicked it behind a thick bush.
So we ended up third in the scavenger hunt. There was a funny rumor after the hunt that Bowen was suppose to play the "princess" at the end of the hunt.
The point of the hunt had a story behind it. And the story was that a "princess" had been captured and poisoned. Our job as "CIA agents" are suppose to find three pills and bring it back to the place where the "princess" (possibly Bowen) was kept.
Kinda stupid really, but the hunt was pretty fun. Amy tried to drag me off to go to Niagra Falls with some people during our rec time, but she never ended up going herself 'cause she couldn't find someone to drive her.
I really hope I didn't leave anything there this year, unlike last year when I left my alarm clock there. To this day, I haven't bothered to get a new one yet.
There were sooooo many red punch buggies driving around the campus in a LINE formation. They were advertising some clubs since the fronts were painting with so many words.
No one bothered to "punch" anyone though after seeing the buggies; it was just too much of an effort to scream, "Red punch buggy, no punch backs" then punch the guy like fifteen times in a row.
I guess I should end this off with what was the most important thing I learned this weekend, ne?
First off, I must always take pills before I go on car rides.
Second, when someone insults you in any way, it's better to just turn to them the other cheek and preserve what little relationship there is, than starting an all out war with the other guy.
Even though when someone offends you, and the world tells you that you have every right to defend yourself, the only ways for things to progress and not start fights with other people, is just to let go of your rights.
Doing so also shows the other person how much grace and compassion you have, and maybe, just maybe, they can learn from you too.
Thank-you Dr. Kent for showing us this and thank-you Carol for driving and giving us stomach pills.
38"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' 39But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. 41If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
